Prof. Gilbert Bukenya has been recognized and honored as a GREAT HEART for his efforts in creating a better world.

GREAT HEARTS are people who are doing something to make the world better. Having learnt about Prof. Bukenya's contribution to eradicate poverty in Uganda, the Great Hearts Afire Foundation saw the Vice President of Uganda not only as a politician but also as a person for all the people and hence a true Great Heart for Uganda and the world.

The Great Hearts Afire foundation in USA was established by artist and mediator Haydn Anthony as a way for people worldwide to participate in the peace projects she creates. Haydn has been doing projects since she was involved in the POW/MIA movement during the ‘70's.

The mission of the Foundation is to involve individuals globally in project that are directed towards establishing peace.

The Foundation encourages people of all nationalities, cultures, religions and races to participate in directing attention and action towards peace.

The Great Hearts Afire Foundation is dedicated to helping create a peaceful world with a view of making sure that three important issues of Poverty, Education and Human Rights are addressed in order for peace to exist in any region of the world.

In recognition of his efforts, Prof. Bukenya received the Great Heart bracelet and peace information from Haydn Anthony.

The Great Heart bracelet contains the six attributes of peacemakers which are Courage, Compassion, Truth, Justice, Freedom and Peace.

Never in the history have all the individuals of the world joined together with one singular focus to create peace. It is happening now and we are the human race for peace.

Together as Great Hearts we can change the world.
